Boy’s Dance Growth

Nick Mackle, Staff Writer

Spirit Week is right around the corner and boys dance queen, Alex Dusky, is on a mission to perfect the three-peat in boys dance. Dusky, the head choreographer for the Class of 2019, with the help of Elizabeth Duncan, Ashlyn Ezzo, and Sibeal McGrath have started choreographing the dance.
“Elizabeth creates the music, then all of us create ideas and bounce off of each other to create the dance.” Dusky explains.
Sophomore year began the winning streak as the boys shocked the juniors and seniors with a 50s dance full of Grease.
“This one [50s dance] was my favorite cause the guys looked crisp, and it was our first championship.” Dusky said.
The winning streak continued as country music was too much for Broadway and New York City as the seniors fell by 1 tenth of one-point last year. This year Dusky and the boys take on music genres with musicals as their own, competing against horror, sci-fi, and animated to finish off Spirit Week on September 14th.
