A Look into the Literary Magazine

Katie Orillion, Staff Writer

The new literary and creative writing teams embark on a journey to publish the 2018 literary magazine under the direction of the English department’s very own Mrs. Murray. In the past, a committee of students has published a literary magazine, composed of original fiction, poetry, photography, art, and nonfiction works submitted by students and teachers. Murray is in the process of assembling a team to edit, format, and publish the new magazine, enlisting the help of her creative writing class and the new literary magazine club she advertised at club fair.
It has been 3 years since the last edition was published, and, according to Mrs. Murray, “I think they’re [the student body] ready for it, especially the opportunity to submit creative writing without being graded”.
Submissions are open to anyone, and they plan to publish one major edition this spring. The literary magazine club, tasked with the editing and publishing of the magazine, held an information meeting on Wednesday the 29th for all those interested. The dates for future meetings can be heard on the morning announcements and in the emails, so be on the look out if you want to help support this reborn program.
