Basketball Anticipates Upcoming Season

Nick Mackle, Staff Writer

The KCHS basketball team and sophomore player, Sam Sompayrac are looking forward to the upcoming season starting on November 13th against Clinton. Two new comers, Akeem Odusipe and Handje Tamba, look to have a huge impact down below the basket.

Sompayrac explained, “We will be better than last year because we have two giants in the paint (Akeem and Tamba).”

The Irish begin district play with Maryville on November 20, but the game Sompayrac is looking forward to most is Bearden.

“They are the best team in the area, and having Akeem and Tamba will help,” Sompayrac said.

CAK and Grace are the typical rivals although Sompayrac wants to begin a new rivalry with a new team. Sompayrac concluded with, “I want Bearden to become a rivalry with them because they are the best.”
